About Brewer’s Getaway Piña Colada Blonde Ale

A blonde ale with a tropical boost! Brewer’s Getaway, which recently won a Silver Medal at the 2024 Canada Beer Cup, combines coconut, fresh Costa Rican pineapple, lactose (milk sugar), and experimental hop HBC-472, creating a delightful beer reminiscent of Piña Colada cocktails. Perfect for pairing with queso fresco, stuffed mushrooms, pineapple upside-down cake, out on the patio, or when dreaming of breezy beaches.

This beer was envisioned by co-founder Gerad Coles and Head Brewer Curtis Grieb as a winter warmer, inspired by tropical flavours to brighten the cold months. Originally a winter pilot, it quickly became a fan favourite, leading to a larger batch in 2022. Due to popular demand, we’ve brought it back in collaboration with Glasswing Produce, donating 30 cents from every can sold to support the revitalization of the town square in Saíno, Costa Rica, near their pineapple plantation and juicing plant.
